Rock Talk is in session! The list of blogs, Twitters, MySpace accounts and websites we check is ever-expanding, and the goods just keep on coming. Here's what we found in the last week of trolling those H-Town music-related interwebs.
Tunes
Those crazy 10th Gräde Cütie kids recorded a Christmas EP, called Dr. Feelgood. You can grab it for free from their Bandcamp site. They're also planning on spending most of 2010 outside of Houston.
Local hip hop crew The Nice Guys have a full length, The Show, coming out in early 2010, but let loose a free EP this week with some songs that didn't wind up on the album. You can download The Green Room from 2DopeBoyz.
Read up on The Jonx over at Houston Press, and snag yourself a few songs from their new record, Vocabularian Herds, while you're at it.
The new Female Demand EP is available at fine record stores like Cactus Music, Soundwaves, & Sound Exchange, or you can pay-what-you-want via Bandcamp. We're holding out for the LP [check out this newly-announced cover!] at the New Year's Eve release show.
Videos
Trills has begun a project of "video poems" set to unreleased songs. Check out the first one, Drone, at his blog.
News, etc.
The Chronicle has a pretty good writeup/chat with Ragged Hearts.
You can now get down with local country singer Jud Johnson via an iPhone app.
Consequence of Sound gave The Watermarks Thoughts Like Bombs a nice little review.
Somebody whined about The Energy/Roky Moon & Bolt's Weird Christmas flyer, and MySpace took it down. Offensive? More like anti-Nazi tropical party Santa on a Harley - weird indeed.
You can read more about American Fangs via an interview they did on the Afro-Punk blog.
Remember that A Dream Asleep house party video shoot we mentioned? Looks like it was fun.
Both The Energy and Muhammid Ali promised us releases this week, so we'll be looking forward to an upcoming LP from the former and a heavily anticipated seven-inch from the latter.
