For the Weekend of December 17th - 20th, 2009
If the beginning of the week was slim pickings in the show department, the weekend is overstuffed - well, except for Sunday. Fortunately, Houstonist was able to make our picks rather quickly this time.
Tonight we'll be heading to Diverseworks to catch Life Is Happy & Sad again, making sure to stick around for the fellas that'll be covering some of Daniel's songs after the play. Then we'll rush over to The Continental Club to catch what we can of Springfield Riots - we advise you to do likewise.
Tomorrow we're off to Sound Exchange to catch the latest lo-fi goodness from The Wiggins. We may take our chances afterwards on The Boxmasters, which features a certain Mr. Billy Bob Thornton, at Fitzgerald's.
Houstonist has had this Saturday marked on our calendars for a long time - it'll be a bittersweet metal symphony at Walter's as both The Jonbenét [arguably one of the decade's most successful Houston bands and proprietors of the most controversial name in town] and At All Cost will be calling it quits. We know that's a guarantee for one heckuva show, however, and we'll be damned if we're going to miss it. Saturday is also the last night of Life Is Happy & Sad, complete with full bands covering Daniel's songs after the play. Make sure you see that play!
Our company Christmas party is Sunday, so we won't be hitting up Miss Leslie's gig at Continental Club this week. Don't let that stop you from two-stepping, however.
