H-Town Rock

stryper.jpg For the week of December 21st-23rd, 2009

Houstonist knows the week of Christmas is always on the lighter side when it comes to concerts. That doesn't mean it is a barren wasteland devoid of shows to attend, however. Here's what's on tap this week.

Our picks will be pretty short and sweet, due to the number of shows, but tonight we'll be venturing out to catch the infamous yellow and black attack. That's right, the one and only Stryper will be at House of Blues.

Tuesday we plan on dropping into the Big Top to catch a residency that we've heard more than a couple folks talk about: The Hustlers Brass Band. We don't make it by Charlie's often, but every time Houstonist goes we has a good time. We're going to try to make Wednesday an act in two parts: Dean's for a solo set from Prairie Cadets, and Super Happy Fun Land to see a bunch of groups we know nothing about. Houstonist doesn't care where you go, but go! Support your local music scene.
