H-Town Rock

greathopes.jpg For the week of January 4th-6th, 2010

If you're reading this, then we survived ringing in the new year - and so did you! Let's celebrate the fact that we all made it home safe with some shows, eh?

We'll start off tonight by catching Houston legend Archie Bell at Discovery Green, where he'll be playing as part of Annise Parker's official swearing-in as mayor. We're not sure if bustin' heads to Archie Bell is appropriate, but we hear that some stupid homophobe racists Westboro Baptist folks should be there, so we'll see how that fares. Afterwards we'll go bust down the door at The Mink for the Lemuria / Football, etc. show.

Tuesday is a fairly light night, so Houstonist will plan to catch The Umbrella Man's residency at Continental Club. Wednesday, however, has some more options. Apparently some kid that was in a movie we'll never watch, er, Twilight is playing at Warehouse Live. We'll respectfully pass, opting to either do some two-steppin' at Mango's or some shoegazin' at The Mink.

As always, let us know where you'll be partaking of the music, maybe we'll see you there.
