Daily-ist Friday: Lot's to do!

royclark.jpg What's doing in Houston? Tired of the same old happy hour? We have some great choices for you today. Some of them are free and some of them are not, but, they all look great. So, here you go:

Cactus Music In-Store Performance: Reckless Kelly performs at 6:00 p.m. and if you attend, the Saint Arnold's beverages are free, as is the performance. Giddyup!

The Dalmore Scotch After-Party: Free henna tattoos and free tastings of The Dalmore 12 Years Old Scotch, from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. at Diesel, 3101 San Jacinto. Free admission! (there's a lot of "free" going on here, and the Scotch is damn fine, just saying) Swilling free scotch is a sin, roll it over your palate, or else.

The Mucky Duck: Slaid Cleave's performs two shows, 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. If you haven't heard "Everything You Love Will Be Taken Away", his new album, you should - if you're a fan of Americana Music. Admission $20 at the door. Located at 2425 Norfolk. He's awesome live, this show's worth every penny!

Stafford Centre: Roy Clark (incredible picker, comedian, entertainer) of Hee Haw and Grand Ole Opry fame (we watched it, we admit it....Buck Owens was a legend) plays the Stafford Centre (10505 Cash Road) tonight, doors at 7:00 p.m. and show at 8:00 p.m. Tickets range from $29 - $100. For ticket information call 281.208.6900.

Vox Culture Center: Don't Walk Away - Rebuilding Haiti from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Join local artists and enjoy food, music and Haitian dancers while you assemble World Vision survior kits to be shipped to Haiti (these kits will contain much needed medical supplies) your cost per kit is $28. Full information, including an updated artist list is HERE.

Wanna get away? Join local and fabulous Stout Irish Rock band, Blaggard's in College Station tonight. Why? (yeah, why not? - they are fabulous, take our word) They are hosting the Great Guinness Toast (set begins at 10:00 p.m.) O'Bannon's Tap House (103 Boyett Street, 979.846.9214) and it'll be wicked fun! Call the bar for tickets, we gave you the number, you have no excuse.

Stay tuned.....we've got some weekend fun and shenanigans coming up later.
