H-Town Rock

roky.jpg For the week of February 22nd - 24th

Well, it's a light week here in Houston, but there are a few gems on the bill. Here's your biweekly calendar complete with our hand-selected suggestions.

Tonight is a good night to check out some of the residencies, if you haven't been. Houstonist must admit that we still need to get over to Mango's and actually see Lucas Gorham's Sad Gorilla. Looks like tonight's the night.

Tuesday is the conundrum - Henry Rollins is here, and that's a must-see for anyone. Our good ol' boy Kinky Friedman will be at Mucky Duck, as well. If you're looking for music, however, make sure to be at the Akron/Family show at Walter's - Buxton is playing supporting act, and we hear there are a few suprises in store for everyone.

Good grief, is that really Yes on the bill for Wednesday's House of Blues show? Wow. We'll be at the Continental Club for Roky Erickson, or we'll be at Boondocks to catch the band with the most extravagant name in town: Hamamatsu Tom & His Fabulous Band of Bareback Hell Stallions. Either way we will probably saunter over to Mango's afterward for a spell. Join us there, maybe you'll get to two-step with us. Houstonist promises not to step on your toes.

As always, the calendar is below. Now go see some music!
