H-Town Rock

voidmate.jpg For the week of March 1st - 3rd, 2010

Another week, another list of shows. Houstonist has everything you need right here, so pick out a few and go catch some live music in this wonderful city of ours. We've even got a few tips for you.

Tonight: If you haven't caught the epic and poetic live performance of The Manichean yet, we strongly encourage you attending their show at Avant Garden. It's truly a sight to behold. Houstonist plans to pop over to Super Happy Fun Land to see Voidmate. We just checked them out and they're making some lovely glitches and bloops that we're totally digging.

Tuesday brings Irish punk purveyors Dropkick Murphys to Warehouse Live. We don't plan on missing it, but if you're not so inclined then allow us to recommend Dirt Daubers at Rudyard's. We heard something about involvement from ex-Legendary Shack Shakers members, so it's likely to be pretty good.

We'll be following that up with an appearance at The Mink - Jon from The Monocles is back in town and has put together a release that'll be limited to 30 copies, and you know our music-hoarding hearts need one. Plus, Ghost Town Electric is on the bill, and they're not a band to be missed. If you're not feeling the rock, then head to Mango's. We're bound to make it there eventually.
