For the week of March 22 - 24, 2010
We made it back from Austin intact, if a little worse for wear, and still completely in love with music. So we're happy to see some quality shows in town as the ghost of SXSW 2010 streams off into the ether.
The show at Super Happy Fun Land looks like an excellent crazy mishmash off artists, but we're pretty darn excited about that Vivian Girls show at The Mink tonight. It doesn't hurt that our enjoyable locals The Wiggins will be onstage as well.
Tomorrow our pals Followed By Static will be coming down from Austin and playing at Avant Garden. This show is $3 if you're over 21 [$8 if you're under], which fits our post-Flatstock budget perfectly - plus we might finally see Somosuno in the flesh. Metal onslaught Golden Axe is at Walter's as well.
We aren't sure who's playing at Walter's on Wednesday with Benjamin Wesley, but it doesn't matter. The man is a real treat to watch, and speaking of treats - stop by Discovery Green between noon and 1:30 pm to catch Texas Johnny Brown's blues show.
