About Houstonist
Houstonist is a website about Houston and everything that happens in it. That means news and events, restaurants and bars, happenings, goings-on and observations.
Houstonist was launched in November 2005 and is part of the Gothamist network. It is authored by a growing group of hard-working bloggers. If you love Houston and want to write about it, drop us an e-mail. We love our readers — feel free to leave comments and, if you're inclined, purchase advertisements. We also hold occasional happy hours and other events.

FAQ
Can I write for Houstonist?
We’re always looking to expand the Houstonist team. If you love Houston and are in tune with what’s happening in the city, e-mail us with a writing sample and some info about yourself. If you think there’s an area of interest we’re not writing about, let us know that, too. As for pay — we only offer fame, not wealth.
I have a news tip/story idea/event/rumor/bit of gossip. Wanna hear it?
You bet. Houstonist loves hearing from our readers. Send information on stuff of interest to Houstonians to us. And if there’s a burning question you want to sic the Houstonist brain trust on, write it on a 4-by-6 index card and e-mail it to askhoustonist (at) gmail.com.
Is there a cost-effective way to reach an audience of technologically savvy, hip Houstonians?
Oh yeah. There are several options for advertising on Houstonist. Sales are handled through our publisher, Gothamist — check here for details or e-mail sales@gothamist.com. If you're interested in a promotion or co-sponsoring a Houstonist event, e-mail Jim.
I have a website about Houston, but it's not on your links list. Why?
We try to link to sites we like and information that’s relevant to our audience, but sometimes we’re lazy about updating our list of links. Drop us an e-mail if there’s a Houston-related site you think we’ve missed, a site you’d like us to check out or a blog that deals with the local scene. And have you linked to Houstonist, sent a trackback or commented on a Houstonist post? Get to it!
I don't know what those things in your logo are.
That's not a question, but: the Astrodome, the Niels Esperson Building, Pennzoil Place and the Sam Houston statue in Hermann Park.
