Just when you thought Houston was poised to add another football powerhouse to our professional sports fold the AAFL has folded "temporarily," and with it Team Texas. The 2008 season has been deferred while the six team league searches out new investors. Team Texas president Mike Pede was unaware of any financial trouble according to the report in the Houston Business Journal. Things seemed to be going well. The marketing campaign was gaining steam. Team Texas won the "Most Beautiful Float Award" for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Parade last Sunday. And, season tickets were selling.
