Houstonist might spend an abundance of time discussing things in the auditory realm, but we do enjoy the literary word greatly. Histories in particular are quick to find a soft spot in our heart; we love a good recounting of times before us.
Thus, we were pleasantly surprised when an advance copy of David V. Herlihy's The Lost Cyclist fell into our lap.

Houstonist continues to be impressed with the evening programming offered at the Central Library. From readings to craft classes to writing workshops, all for free, the library ain't just for nerds anymore, but of course, you already knew that.
If you don't have at least one of his books on your bookshelf, there is something fundamentally wrong with you (and we're guessing it's the inability to laugh at yourself).
