Janitors who clean Houston's largest buildings have unionized and will be pushing for higher wages, union organizers announced yesterday — the result of years of work. According to reports, Houston janitors are paid considerably less ($5.50 an hour) than their counterparts in some other cities, including L.A. ($10.65 an hour) and Philadelphia ($13.31 an hour).
