Remember the good old days of stunt motorcycle jumps? Yeah, we do, too, and that's why we like this video of Evel Knievel's 1971 Astrodome jump. The jump drew a then-record crowd of more than 100,000 (over two nights) to the Dome to watch Knievel soar over 13 cars. Unfortunately, no one ever got to see Knievel jump over the Astrodome itself, as his Wikipedia entry says he thought about doing. The jump in this video, from Jan. 8, 1971, took place about six weeks before Knievel set a new world record by jumping 19 Dodges in Ontario, Calif. (Now he holds he world record for the most broken bones: somewhere around 40 and counting.) more ›
