Last week, Houstonist misinformed you - heck we downright led you astray! Mixers, Elixirs & IMAX runs through August 24th (DOH). Tonights festivities kick off at SMT "Standard Mixer Time" or 6:00 p.m. and Klockwork - formerly of the Gallant Knight will be performing. So, you can go get your IMAX, drink, groove and snack on tonight. Tickets are $13 for members and $15 for non-members and includes a cash bar and IMAX ticket. I.Q. and I.D. are required. Houstonist has become aware of some slightly disturbing news: word on the skreet is that Leon's Lounge may be under new ownership. Leon's is a Houston institution like the Oilers, the Summit, AstroWorld and the AstroDome. See. We told you it was disturbing.

The Gallant Knight has not yet grown cold in it's grave (we are not sure that it's been scraped off of the lot by the nice developer) and Houstonist is moving along - shaking the money-maker somewhere else. The best way to do that - find Klockwork! Find them, we did.

Houstonist was still reeling in shock about the demise of The Gallant Knight when yet another step down the path toward destruction of local flavor progress was reported in The Houston Chronicle. The Laff Stop will be moving from its digs in the River Oaks Shopping Center when the current lease expires. Fortunately for Houstonians, The Laff Stop will not "fade into Bolivian" (thanks Mike Tyson) like The Fabulous Satellite Lounge, which closed in 2003...

Tonight's the night - the last night of the Gallant Knight, unfortunately. Houstonist has scrounged for parking, queued up for cocktails and, most importantly, shaken our money-maker at the coolest little dive bar in town. Alas and alack, 'twill come to a screeching halt at the close of business this evening — or so we hear from the Chronicle.
