It's hard to believe that it's been ten years since Max Fischer got kicked out of Rushmore and "made a go of it" at Grover Cleveland High. But it has been ten years, so to celebrate, Discovery Green is presenting Screen on the Green - RUSHMORE 10TH CLASS REUNION! A free screening of this indie classic by Houstonian Wes Anderson at the Anheuser-Busch Stage and Fondren Performance Space, otherwise known as the hill.

Our picks for the month include a few new artists, including Illinois, White Rabbits and Coconut Records (which is actually a new moniker for Rushmore actor and Phantom Planet leader Jason Schwartzman); and tunes off the latest Go! Team, Son Volt and Over The Rhine records. We also threw in some earlier favorites from Andrew Bird, Ray LaMontagne, and Neko Case (plus, we threw in her band The New Pornographers – yes, we have a thing for Neko). We figured that it’d be best to throw in a classic, too (Van Morrison). To wrap up the iMix, we included some whoopee-making music, courtesy of one of our favorite cable shows/bands, Flight of the Conchords.
