Rock The Cradle For Johnny Romano was held on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark near downtown. The contest was a World Cup Invitational event and skaters from all over the world, including Brazil and Denmark, came out to support The Johnny Romano Foundation. Three contests were held including biggest air, biggest cradle ride and best trick.
Southside Skatepark hosted the Johnny Romano Skate Jam on Saturday, November 8, 2008. The event was well attended by both skaters and spectators and helped raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation.
Rock The Cradle is the first World Cup Invitational event that the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark has seen. There are going to be a number of pros and ams competing in today's events.
It's here and it's happening today! The Johnny Romano Skate Jam is skateboarding's largest charity event and this year the event formerly known as the Texas Skate Jam has been renamed in honor of Johnny Romano, a die-hard skater and surfer who passed away in September.
