Shebus! We've let a whole month go by without posting Rock Talk, and we're most apologetic. SXSW threw off our schedule originally, and right when we were ready to get back into the game, the now notorious theft occured. We've still been hoarding news, however - and while you may have read some of this elsewhere already, we're more than happy to relay it to you.

Welcome to yet another installation of Rock Talk! It's been too long, but we have to blame our day job for that transgression. In the meantime, Houstonist has a boatload and then some of music news for you all. Someone find us a bigger boat.
Houstonist was fortunate enough to be invited over to KTRU to listen in and snap a few photos whilst local glam-revivalists Roky Moon & Bolt played on the air. Afterwards we walked down to Valhalla, grabbed a few beers, and had a chat with the band. Many thanks to Ian Wells for having us over to the studio, and to the band for letting us share two of the songs from their set. The full interview can be listened to here, as well as the tracks Go Wake Up Avery and Monster Came Out Of The Woods from their KTRU set.
- 7 p.m. — Mango's re-opening. The tiny cantina at 403 Westheimer which has been closed since Hurricane Ike has a facelift and new personality. The sign now proclaims it a cafe, bar, live music venue and vegetarian restaurant. Sounds good. It's grand opening is tonight featuring Two Star Symphony, Robert Ellis, I am Mesmer, and The Sideshow Tramps. Cost is $8 after 8 p.m. The website has a full listing of shows almost every night in April.
- 10 p.m. — The Light Rock Express will be playing the songs your parents loved for free at the Big Top, 3714 Main Street.
We're a little behind on this local music news bit, but only because we're just now getting over the music festival phobia SXSW instilled in us.
