Friday night funtime reminder!! Houston filmmaker Raymond Gayle's film Electric Purgatory shows at 7pm tonight at MFAH. The film is a documentary examining the lives and musical contributions of black rock musicians, such as Fish Bone, Jimi Hazel, Jimi Hendrix, ?uestlove and many more.

Last November, Houston lost a great singer/songwriter and guitarist when Chris Whitley lost his battle to lung cancer. Throughout his battle, Chris racked up some massive medical bills and also left behind a daughter, Trixie. Local and national musicians are gathering together to play benefit shows in his honor to help raise money for medical bills and to build a trust fund for Trixie.
