Well-rounded entertainiment - lovely spanish food, incredible sangria and live flamenco dancing - what a deal! Reservations are highly recommended. Both their sangria and paella have been lauded as the best in Houston (per the Houston Press) and the Cordinero Jardinera (braised lamb shank) is totally off the hook, in our humble opinion. Tio Pepe is a great little family run restaurant on Cedar in Bellaire, the interior is unassuming and the service has never disappointed. What's better than a plate full of some of Houston's best paella? Well, besides a pitcher of delicious and award-winning sangria? Getting the sangria and paella while flamenco dancing takes place in your presence. This Wednesday night, the flamenco dancing kicks off at 8:00 p.m. at Tio Pepe, located at 5213 Cedar in Bellaire. Houstonist has paid a couple visits to Tio Pepe recently and not been even slightly disappointed. The sangria is the best we've ever had and the paella is seriously to die for - or, at least have a heart palpitation or three. We will be giving you a big ole officially review of the dishes we've sampled in the near future. For now, all we can say is you best call and reserve a spot if you plan to go see the flamenco show - we were forewarned that reservations are highly recommended, so you may want to phone as quickly as possible.
