In honor of the upcoming Dia de los Muertos (in November, yes) the Lawndale Art Center is giving out retablo tins for area artists to decorate for a silent auction benefiting Lawndale programs. Retablos are small traditional Mexican paintings of saints and religious imagery, although we've seen punk rock, KISS and Paul Frank retablos in our day as well.
