It's no secret that we loved Summer Fest and are pretty excited about the big shindig in two weeks. Wait - holy crap is it only two weeks away? Geez, it's sneaky.
If ever you've had the good fortune of meeting Houstonist, you'll know what we're quite fond of many things design oriented, not the least of which being poster art.
And, we're certain you know of our love for Cactus Music and St. Arnold brews by now.
What would happen should someone combine all of the above?

Houstonist is fond of the Saint Arnold Brewing Company and every single beer they brew (even Elissa - damn she packs a punch). Here's a quick update on the Newery and upcoming fun-ery in which they are involved. First and foremost, a quick tour update: tours are limited, due to pesky permit issues, to the Tour Hall, for now. Weekend tours are less "company informative chat" and more "sampling in the beer hall with buddies". Week day tours are smaller, so they do include a short chat about matters of beer-relevance.
Houstonist is just waking up from the glory of last night's Saint Arnold Brewing Co. grand opening party at their new digs at 2000 Lyons Ave., northeast of downtown. Who advised us to bring our long-discontinued half-liter St. Arnold's beer stein?
When we got an e-mail inviting us to join the fun at Saint Arnold's 2nd annual Foam Raiser for The Orange Show, we knew we'd be fools to turn it down. Two great local acts and some super-special cask ale? There was no way Houstonist would miss it. Apparently plenty of you fine folks were wise enough to attend the festivities as well. Here's some of what we caught on camera.
Crack open your smart phone's calendar entry for tomorrow and Sharpie this in: "Go check out 600 sq mi: Hidden opening reception at Xnihilo Gallery to shake ass, drink beer and appreciate art."
To be precise, Divine Reserve No. 9 will be a Pumpkin Imperial Stout. And on our part, to be honest, Houstonist has not found a pumpkin beer we've liked, but an Imperial Stout seems like as fine an approach as we can imagine. We'll toast its release with a hearty... well, Pumpkin Imperial Stout, of course.
Despite them brewing the biggest Divine Reserve batch yet, our dear friends at Saint Arnold ran out of it pretty darn quick. Divine Reserve #8 was a Scotch ale, and if you were one of the lucky few then you managed to get your paws on some, or at least found it on tap somewhere.
If you've ever wanted to participate in the Art Car Parade but don't have the mechanical wherewithal (or the garage) to build your own entry, you need to get your engine on down to the Saint Arnold Brewery for their Art Car volunteer recruitment party and happy hour.
We at Houstonist love our dear local brewery, Saint Arnold’s. Not only do they produce several quality beers, but also they know how to have a bit of fun. Evidence of this exists in abundance: the regular tastings and tours at the brewery, pub crawls, special events, and the list just keeps on growing.
We trust that you're well on the way to completing your entry for the Second Annual Saint Arnold Scavenger Hunt.
When Houstonist told our 11 readers about the first-ever flavor-tripping party (a.k.a. Miracle berry party) to be held in Houston, we received several comments and emails from readers lamenting the fact that they'd missed the sold-out event.
Can we interest you in the brisk salt air and the reassuring view of distant oil platforms in the Gulf with your beer? If so, you'll want to attend the next Saint Arnold pub crawl this Saturday, June 28th starting promptly at 4:00 p.m.
Sometimes there's a man; sometimes, there's a man.
Despite the likely assumption, Cary Brothers is not a musical group comprised of gifted singing and/or dancing siblings with matching haircuts. Rather, first name: Cary, last name: Brothers [pictured], is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter who is opening for Ben Lee at the Meridian tomorrow night. Brothers has been a fixture on the L.A. music scene for years, but his big break came when his hushed lullaby, "Blue Eyes," was featured prominently in Zach Braff's directorial debut,...

Houston Arts & Media Fundraiser + Silent Auction @ Saint Arnold's Brewery There are very few combinations that we can think of better than BEER and ART. No, we're not talking about the Beer Can House, but we ARE refering to the Houston Arts & Media Fundraiser @ Saint Arnold's Brewery tonight. Admission is only $20, a small price to pay for all the beer, food, music, and fun you can stand. Perfomring will be...
We know you've always dreamed of being able to give back to your fellow man and swill some tasty brew while doing it. You've held those dreams in check since you were informed that using a power saw and drinking a beer don't exactly meld together at Habitat for Humanity. Fortunately, Houstonist's favorite local brewery stepped up and created a position for us dreamers: Saint Arnold's Brewery tour Volunteer. Brewery tours are held each Saturday...
Summer's here, the rain is gone, the heat has set back in, there's only one thing left to do: drink beer. Saint Arnold’s brewery is hosting their 5th annual summer downtown pub crawl tomorrow night. Why go to a pub crawl? Well, first of all, if you make it to four of the five stops, you’ll receive a pint glass from the brewery. Also, it’s quite fun to be in a herd of people stumbling...
There’s nothing funnier than old educational films. Wait, yes there is — when you add beer. That’s why Houstonist is excited about “Drinky Drink”, a special event tomorrow night at Saint Arnold’s Brewery, which will feature several short films about the good and evil of alcohol. The A/V Geeks will be showing vintage films like Alcohol is Dynamite, A Case for Beer, Alco Beat, and Curious Habits of Man for your pleasure, as you...
"From man's sweat and God's love, beer came into the world." Ah, the immortal words of Arnold, Bishop of Metz. In the early 7th century, he declared water unsafe to drink and offered his “miracle” mug of beer as an alternative. In turn, the Catholic church made him the patron saint of brewers. We like Saint Arnold — especially his beer! Locals are probably more familiar with the brewery than the man. All you really...
