Spend the Night on Blue Bayou Join the Buffalo Bayou Partnership tonight as they kick-off a year long series of stargazing, boat rides, storytelling and more along the Sabine-to-Bagby Promenade. The $15 million park — which doubles as a flood-control project — includes 2 miles of hike and bike trails linking the Allen Parkway/Memorial Drive trails with Sesquicentennial Park, 12 new street-to-bayou stairways...
Houstonist loves Thanksgiving. That said, we'll be the first to admit that Thanksgiving can get pretty boring. Face it: Once you have dinner and the family settles into a tryptophan-and-football-induced coma, all you can do is look forward to leftover turkey sandwiches. So why not get into the holiday spirit this Thanksgiving with a trip to the Buffalo Bayou ArtPark's 2005 Xmas Tree Show? Twenty-one artists and groups decorate trees however they want, and the results are usually pretty crazy. This year, the entries include a 25-layer tree cake, an inverted tree and a tree decorated with traffic lights. If that doesn't make you feel Christmasy, we don't know what will.
