Remember our blathering about salons? Well, another modern salon was just brought to Houstonist's attention, and this one happens every month. The Spacetaker SPEAKeasy is the third Wednesday of each month, during which the local arts organization hosts two or three creative personalities from a variety of disciplines (literature, art, music, etc.). Those artists are invited to participate in an informal dialogue or presentation about their work, followed by a Q&A session. The goal is to give the audience an idea of the presenter's creative process and to also introduce local and budding creators to one another in the hopes of fostering collaborations. Tonight's guests are Houston-based author and blogger Gwendolyn Zepeda, who will speak about how she started her writing career, and Julia Claire Wallace, the Houston-born painter who is also the creator of sexyATTACK.
