The University of Houston Cougars Softball team won its first Conference USA title Saturday afternoon, surviving a heated pitching duel. Tournament MVP Angel Shamblin tossed a 2-hit shutout give the Cougars the Conference title in a narrow 1-0 victory over East Carolina.
