Our picks for the month include a few new artists, including Illinois, White Rabbits and Coconut Records (which is actually a new moniker for Rushmore actor and Phantom Planet leader Jason Schwartzman); and tunes off the latest Go! Team, Son Volt and Over The Rhine records. We also threw in some earlier favorites from Andrew Bird, Ray LaMontagne, and Neko Case (plus, we threw in her band The New Pornographers – yes, we have a thing for Neko). Jay Farrar and Son Volt are playing what will most likely be a sold out show at the Continental Club this Sunday night. They're touring on the heels of their latest release The Search, one of their most critically acclaimed releases in years.
