St. Arnold's brewery, home of awesome beer and awesome staff is now open for tours! Admission to the new brewery is $7 and you get four samples and a "souvie" glass. Doors and taps will open at 10:00 a.m. and the tour will close at 3:30 p.m. Although the space in the new brewery is larger, there are some capacity constraints (just like everywhere, for safety and such) and therefore, if they are at capacity when you arrive, queue up and as space opens, you'll be allowed in. Please be courteous and enjoy the tour and the delicious beer and let someone else do the same. The last group to go in will enter between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., but ya can't stay past 3:30 p.m.

Well, the "media" has been alerted, as have loyal St. Arnold's patrons. If you were planning to be one of the first to tour the Newery or the Oldery for that matter, you will not be able to this Saturday. The equipment has been relocated from the Oldery and the Newery does not currently have a valid occupancy license at the moment, the temporary one was yanked. They are working very hard to rectify this issue. We will let you know as soon as the tours are back "on".

Saturday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. the Heights will unfurl "White Linen Nights in the Heights", so that we can toodle around the neighborhood, exposing ourselves to art, food, shopping and perusing some of Houston 's nearly condo-eradicated architecture. Yes, construction commenced in the 1890's on this, Houston's first, planned community (who knew a planned community could rock!). This event is free, parking is free, pedi-cabs? free! shuttles, yeah free, too!! So, bust out your best white linen outfit and come stroll around, white linen banners will identify participants. This year's sponsors include: Glaceau VitaminWater, Sweet Leaf Teas, Bacardi, St. Arnold's Brewery and Real Ale Brewery(love some local beer products!), Spanish Flowers, Wind Water Gallery, M2 Gallery (home of last years 600 sq. miles exhibit), Coldwell Banker United Realty, The Leader News, Heights Pages, Contents Fashion Boutique and many others. There are typically over 100 sponsors participating in this event. Here's a map of the event, some transportation information, and a full list of offerings and participants.

We know you've always dreamed of being able to give back to your fellow man and swill some tasty brew while doing it. You've held those dreams in check since you were informed that using a power saw and drinking a beer don't exactly meld together at Habitat for Humanity. Fortunately, Houstonist's favorite local brewery stepped up and created a position for us dreamers: Saint Arnold's Brewery tour Volunteer. Brewery tours are held each Saturday...
