Houstonist interviewed the darling of the Bayou City last week, Taucha Hogue, as she was in the quarterfinals for the College Cheerleader of Year Award. Now, after a convincing win over Mississippi St., Taucha has advanced into the Final Four against Kansas. Houstonist will continue to follow Taucha as she looks to capture the coveted crown as Cheerleader of the Year.

In radio's heyday, a format change was a huge event. Stations would, for example, play nothing but a ticking clock for days or weeks, keeping its listeners on edge about what will happen next. Nowadays, it seems that radio stations flip formats annually, so it’s no big deal.
They may not be able to drive real cars, but the Boy Scouts were able to pilot their wooden chariot to a decisive victory over Team Houstonist in The Rod Ryan Show’s debut Morning Wood Derby. They finished first and we finished 3rd, 3rd, 4th and 3rd for an average of 3.25!
Your brave and daring Houstonist writers are hoping that entering a pinewood derby contest will raise our profile in the community, at least among the Eagle Scout demographic.
