Now before we dive into the first 'rita review, we must say we were overwhelmed by the positive response and the numerous dining options that readers ranted about. We don't know about you, but when we have out-of-state guests crash on our couch, two primary questions are always posed to us. Those being: "Where do you store the extra toilet paper?" and "Where can I get the best margarita in Houston?"

She's back Houstonist! Taucha Hogue has advanced to the championship round for College Cheerleader of the Year and she needs your vote! Taucha squares of against Arkansas' Laura Cole and she currently trails 54% to 46% as of Monday night.

Houstonist interviewed the darling of the Bayou City last week, Taucha Hogue, as she was in the quarterfinals for the College Cheerleader of Year Award. Now, after a convincing win over Mississippi St., Taucha has advanced into the Final Four against Kansas. Houstonist will continue to follow Taucha as she looks to capture the coveted crown as Cheerleader of the Year.

The final report from HPD crime lab independent investigator Michael Bromwich recommends new, taxpayer-funded DNA tests for prisoners in more than 400 cases in which incomplete or below-standard work was originally performed by the lab. So Mayor Bill White will ask City Council today for money to synchronize more of the city's traffic lights — a continuation of one of White's first initiatives when he took office. According to KHOU, about 70 percent of Houston's traffic lights have been synchronized; it's not clear how many more the $300,000 White will ask for would take care of, but we hope that much money would go a long way.
