Houstonist has a special place in our hearts for The Last Concert Cafe on Nance - it was the fabled "knock or you won't get in" mystery Mexican Restaurant of our mispent youth. The location of many nights of live music, cold beer and hot food. Now, we're asking Houston to help the fine folks there raise money in loving memory of their granddaughter Aubrie Kristine Acosta who succumbed to SIDS on January 12th at three months of age. The Ronald McDonald House Charities helped the family and now they wish to give back to help others who may face similar circumstances. Joining the cause in this concert benefit are The Black Math Experiment, Live Oak Decline and Mo Pair & the Ugi Monks. Please, head over to The Last Concert Cafe this Saturday, February 9th beginning at 8:00 p.m. (you have time to have an early dinner!!!). Admission is only $10/per person, and 100% of all proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Houston/Galveston. If you are unable to attend and still wish to support the cause, please contact Brian Tafton at The Last Concert Cafe 713.226.8563, please.

Houstonist is really looking forward to the Over The Rhine show tonight at the Mucky Duck. In an intimate setting like the Duck, their sopisticated art-pop sound will probably cause shivers down your spine.
Despite the likely assumption, Cary Brothers is not a musical group comprised of gifted singing and/or dancing siblings with matching haircuts. Rather, first name: Cary, last name: Brothers [pictured], is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter who is opening for Ben Lee at the Meridian tomorrow night. Brothers has been a fixture on the L.A. music scene for years, but his big break came when his hushed lullaby, "Blue Eyes," was featured prominently in Zach Braff's directorial debut,...

This week, Phillyist saw the waters of a landmark fountain run red for a Showtime marketing stunt, the Phils pull ahead, and some serious nostalgia. They also got a chance to review an awesome tribute album, reminded folks to see the King and appreciated their beautiful skyline. Chicagoist knows what it's like to like the Cubs. But naming your kid Wrigley Fields? At least they can breathe a little easier now that Grossman's out and...
In the mid 90’s, Matt Sharp, bass player of Weezer, decided to form a little side project called The Rentals. Their debut album scored a minor, and damn catchy, radio hit “Friends of P.” Sharp ended up leaving Weezer in the late 90’s, but only made one other Rentals album. Now, after many years of absence, The Rentals are back with a new EP, The Last Little Life. The Rentals will be hitting Warehouse Live...

My Baby's Got Sauce So it's Friday kids, and you want to hear some music. Well, if you are a follower, teenager, middleager, or someone who thinks that he still writes good music, maybe you should go see Pat Green at the rodeo tonight. Was that too harsh? We're not going to pretend like we don't own and still listen to our old Pat Green CDs. By old we mean, George's Bar, Live at Billy...
Because we're people who know people, we got into yet another movie premiere. This time it was for the latest Zach Braff flick, "The Last Kiss". It also stars Jacinda Barrett of MTV's "Real World: London" fame, Casey Affleck, Rachel Bilson (who we hear is on a little TV show called "The OC"), and Blythe Danner. It's a comedy/drama, but don't expect to leave the theater feeling all warm and fuzzy after you see...
