The Red Sox has permeated nearly every facet of Bostonist's lives. When they're not live-blogging the games, waxing poetic about the games, thanking Curt Schilling for his splendid work, or telling Dane Cook to watch his hair, they're watching certain presidential candidates hop on the Red Sox bandwagon (sorry, Gothamist). The Sox are so branded on the local brain that people are using the Series to spice up their sex lives. Speaking of spice, Bostonist...

Basketball season is right around the corner and these hardcore dedicated fans all tried out for this years Red Rowdies. The Red Rowdies are the loudest fans in the Toyota Center and their tickets are paid for by the Rockets organization. Next time you're at a game, look and listen for them, they'll be the one's cheering loudest in...
Tomorrow is the trade deadline for Major League Baseball, which is pretty much like shopping on Christmas Eve, but with Eric Gagne playing the part of Tickle Me Elmo. The much-maligned Astros have already made one head-scratching trade leading up to the deadline, picking up exactly what they needed in 3B/2B/1B/OF Ty Wigginton: another clean-cut white guy who plays no position in particular. But what is next for GM Tim Purpura? Mark Loretta (who has...
No, it's not by driving as fast as we can around loop 610, but it does include city-wide celebrations, all hoping for the same thing: No rain. Here are a few of the events we'll be checking out tomorrow. Where will you be? Tell us, maybe we'll ditch our plans and join you. But probably not. >>Freedom Over Texas Festival Houston's Official 4th of July Celebration. Chevy presents a concert and Independence Day celebration at...
There’s no better way to finish off a long holiday weekend than by going to a concert and having a few alcoholic beverages in honor of the day. If you’re willing to travel outside of the loop (we know you may require a special cream in order to accomplish this) you can actually find some amazing venues and amazing shows. For example, last night at Scout Bar in Clear Lake. Just getting ready for the show had us humming the classic MxPx tune “Punk Rawk Show”. And there was plenty of time for a musical sing-along warm-up during the drive to the ‘burbs!

The four baseball teams waiting to find out whether Roger Clemens is going to come back to baseball will have to wait a little longer: It looks like Clemens won't be back on the mound until June, if he comes back at all. The Red Sox, the Yankees and the Rangers are all trying to lure Clemens, and the Astros can't talk to him until May 1 because they didn't offer him arbitration. "I've listened...
The bodies of two women were found within miles of each other, and police believe their deaths may be connected A car crashed into a light pole on the Hardy Toll Road this morning, throwing the driver onto the other side of the freeway and pinning the passenger in the car The father of a missing 3-year-old boy has been charged with injury to a child even as the search for the boy continues The...
If you haven’t noticed, we like lunch. If it weren’t for lunch, we’d probably not make it to dinner. If it weren’t for lunch at Thai Cottage, we’d probably go insane. The food is so good that we almost forget that two people can eat there so well for around $15. Located near the Edwards Grand Cinema on the corner of Richmond and Wesleyan, it’s a favorite amongst the Greenway set. The location affords...
Did anyone else notice that Christmas music started being played in public earlier than usual this year? We distinctly remember hearing our first holiday song of the year in a store in mid-October. No kidding. It's a wonder that retail employees don't go insane with that disgustingly cheerful soundtrack playing over and over and over — or maybe they do! Actually, that would explain a lot about our shopping experience this year. At any rate,...
