Now that most of the SXSW artists have left Texas, we have a slower week for concerts, but there are still some great shows to catch. Houstonist caught The Black Angels and VietNam in Austin this past weekend, and we're glad to hear that they (along with Flowers to Hide) are making a stop at Warehouse Live on Wednesday. Houstonist remembers the old days of the Westheimer Street Festival, when lower Westheimer was closed for most of the weekend while freaks locals took over the street, selling crap you don’t need art, playing music, showing off their boa constrictors around their neck, and providing beer for visitors.
